Visiting FST

The Franciscan School of Theology is located in the heart of the Graduate Theological Union campus – affectionately known as Berkeley’s “Holy Hill.” It’s appropriate that the FST building is painted what might be called sunflower yellow, the color that graces buildings throughout central Italy and the color that blankets the plain below the town of Assisi every summer.

 

We encourage prospective students to visit FST, sit in on classes, join students, staff, and the faculty in our dining room, take part in a liturgy – in other words, become a part of the community. Most visitors find even the briefest stay at FST memorable. For some, it’s a stay that will change their lives.

• From San Francisco: Take the San Francisco/Oakland Bay Bridge East. Bear left on I-80 east. Exit onto University Avenue. Go up the ramp and bear right onto University Avenue. Turn left on Oxford Steet. Turn right on Hearst Avenue. Turn left on Euclid Avenue. Go the the second stop sign. FST is on the left.
• From the North: Take I-80 west Exit onto University Avenue Turn right onto University Avenue. Turn left on Oxford Street. Turn right on Hearst Avenue. Turn left on Euclid Avenue. Go the the second stop sign. FST is on the left.
• From the East: Take Hwy 24 west. Exit Telegraph Avenue and turn right onto Telegraph. Turn left on Bancroft Avenue. Turn right on Oxford Street. Turn right on Hearst Avenue. Turn left on Euclid Avenue. Go the the second stop sign. FST is on the left.
• From the South via I-880/980: Take I-880 to I-980 to Hwy 24. Exit Martin Luther King, Jr. Way. Bear left onto Martin Luther King, Jr. Way ramp.
